THE CURRY NIGHT ON THE 5TH JUNE WAS A GREAT SUCCESS AND THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE WHO SUPPORTED THE EVENT.  IT WAS A SELL OUT EVEN WITHOUT A GAME TO ATTRACT THE CROWD.  THE MUSIC GAVE THE CLUB A GREAT ATMOSPHERE, AND ALL THE YOUNGER PLAYERS ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE OLDER STINGRAY PLAYERS TRAINING THEM.

First Home Game success....

Friday Night under 15 , 16\17 games for Round 4 was a success for the club and other teams who made the effort but disappointing that Caloundra 16/17s teams scheduled to play each other in this round could only muster 13 boys between them.

Saturday the 23rd the weather tried to stop us but we did it again.  The few early games were a bit wet at times but the boys had fun playing their first game in the mud and rain.  Not sure about how much fun the supporters had but they were there.

Thank you to all the volunteer Field Marshalls for these 2 days and thanks also to the canteen support.

TEAM OF THE WEEK (pictured above)

The under 12 Blacks are starting to gain some momentum with every game played.  We have struggled to get a full squad of players to training and even games up till now as round 4 was the first game that we have had a full complement of players turn up.

The effort that is being put in at training is starting to pay off as the forwards are showing some great signs of improvement.  We are struggling to score tries at present but I’m sure that they are just around the corner for the boys.

The under 12 blacks are on their way to some great wins if they show the same amount of commitment that they showed against the top of the table team Uni in R4.  We showed that size doesn’t matter when you play as a team.

Stand out performances for the Under 12 Blacks so far have been Jai Fagan, Saxon Kettle, Jonte Heirdsfield, Tainui Kaihau, Ross Blackbeard, Ciaran Doherty, Brad Robinson & Rick Fitzpatrick but everyone has the ability to do great things this year, both Geoff & Myself are proud of what they achieved & the commitment that they have showed so far

Well done Boys;  Thanks to the Parents who helped out on our first home game as many hands make light work.

Franky went off injured on Saturday and all reports are that he has a nice Black eye to show for his commitment to his team mates.

Jai Fagan will be out of action for up to 6 weeks with a broken arm, he just couldn’t land that triple back flip on his skate board, hope you’re feeling better soon Jai.

Thanks

This year our goal is to make this website a much used tool for all players.  I have dedicated a section specifically which lists all teams in age group order.  This can be found under 'Additional Pages'.  After each game I would love to receive from Managers, a commentary and highlights and pictures of each game.  More photos will also able to be viewed in the Photo Gallery.

Sidelines - our Newsletter for the 2009 season will also be published on this website, and printed copies will be floating around the bar and canteen area of the clubhouse.  Please take a copy and keep up to date with what is happening.  We will be endeavouring to get this newsletter published fortnightly during the season. You can find Sidelines on the righthand side of this page under "News Flash" or on the lefthand side under "Sidelines".

Again we thank our sponsors for their contribution towards our wonderful 2009 training shirts, water bottles, team awards, sunshades and the list goes on.  Our club wouldn't be the success it is without them.  Please take some time to look through the Sponsors link to see who they are and if you have a need for one of their services, don't hesitate to call them.
